Swimming Teacher

We are looking for Swimming Teachers for Thornbury Active Lifestyle Centre! Your role will include... • Teaching swimming to the required program • Keeping records of the learners achievements • Ensuring that lessons are set up and cleared away in line with Circadian Trust procedures • Maintaining a safe environment at all times following health and safety guidance • Supporting environmental systems and promoting healthy lifestyles You will.. • Be a good communicator and have knowledge of current health and safety legislation. • Take pride in your work, are always on time, organised and totally reliable. • Hold at least STA Level 2 Award in Swim Teaching qualification. • Receive excellent training, career development and the opportunity to work with like-minded people. Available hours: Monday 3:30pm-6:30pm Tuesday 3:30pm-6:30pm Wednesday 3:30pm-6:30pm Thursday 3:30pm-6:30pm Friday 3:30pm-6:00pm Saturday 8:00am-12:00pm Sunday 8:00am-10:30am Pay = £16 (L1), £17 (L2) p/h We are open to requests for flexible working – please get in contact with the HR team on 01454 279940 should you wish to discuss this further or have any questions. Applications close at 8:00am on 29th May 2026 Swim England Level 1 Qualified Candidates: Please note that we no longer accept Swim England Level 1 qualifications. If you hold this qualification, we are happy to consider your application, but we will request that you attend an STA Level 2 Award course prior to starting your role with us. We will also ask you to attend a poolside assessment as part of the interview process. STA Qualified Candidates: Please note that the STA have two qualifications – the Level 2 Award and the Level 2 Certificate. Although the STA refer to them both as Level 2, the Certificate is a higher qualification. In order to differentiate the two qualifications, we refer to teachers who are Award qualified as Level 1 and will be paid at Level 1 rate, and teachers that are Certificate qualified as Level 2 and will be paid at Level 2 rate.
