Swimming Teacher

Job Title: Swimming Instructor - Cygnet Swimming Lessons Location: St Helens, Merseyside Job Type: Part-Time Salary: Competitive Cygnet Swimming Lessons is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Swimming Instructors to join our team in St Helens. As a Swimming Instructor, you will play a key role in teaching children of all abilities the essential skills of swimming, promoting water safety, and encouraging a lifelong love of swimming. Key Responsibilities: Instruction & Coaching: Plan, deliver, and evaluate high-quality swimming lessons in line with the Cygnet Swimming curriculum. Ensure that all participants progress through the stages of learning to swim. Safety & Supervision: Maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for all participants by adhering to health and safety regulations. Monitor swimmers at all times to ensure their safety during lessons. Individualised Support: Adapt lessons to meet the needs of swimmers of varying ages and abilities, providing additional support and encouragement as needed. Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with participants, parents, and guardians about progress, goals, and any concerns. Record Keeping: Accurately track and document the progress of swimmers, including assessments and attendance records. Team Collaboration: Work closely with other instructors and management to ensure a consistent and high-quality swimming program. Qualifications: - Relevant swimming teaching qualifications, such as ASA Level 2 or equivalent. - First Aid and CPR certification (desirable but not essential). - Lifeguard certification (desirable but not essential). - Previous experience in teaching swimming to children is preferred. Skills & Attributes: - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Patience, enthusiasm, and a passion for teaching swimming. - Ability to motivate and inspire swimmers of all ages and abilities. - Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. - Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning. Working Hours: Evenings and weekends, to accommodate the needs of our swimmers.
