Are you a qualified Baby & Pre-School Swimming Teacher looking for a rewarding role with a friendly, supportive team? Puddle Ducks Chelmsford & NE London is looking for an enthusiastic, caring and motivated qualified Baby & Pre-School Swimming Teacher to join our growing team. We specialise in swimming lessons for babies and children aged 0–4 years, helping them develop confidence, essential water safety skills and a lifelong love of swimming. Our teaching approach is centred around guided-learning, allowing every child to develop at their own pace in a fun, safe and supportive environment. About the role You will deliver engaging, structured and enjoyable swimming lessons, working with babies, pre-school children and their parents. We are primarily looking for someone who can commit to regular weekend teaching at our Chelmsford (and Brentwood) venues, ideally: • Two teaching shifts on a Saturday; or • One teaching shift on Saturday and one on Sunday. The main focus of this role will be teaching at our Chelmsford venues. Additional cover opportunities may occasionally arise at other venues across our Chelmsford & NE London territory, should you be interested in taking on extra hours. Travel time between pool locations during your working day is paid. You'll receive comprehensive paid in-house training, familiarisation with our teaching programme and the opportunity to co-teach alongside experienced members of our team before taking responsibility for your own classes. Please note: You must already hold a recognised Baby & Pre-School Swimming Teaching qualification. We are looking for someone who is qualified and ready to develop their teaching within our programme, rather than someone who still needs to complete their initial teaching qualification. What we're looking for • A recognised Level 2 Baby & Pre-School Swimming Teaching qualification (STA, Swim England or equivalent). • Previous experience delivering baby and pre-school swimming lessons. • A genuine passion for working with babies and young children. • Excellent communication skills and confidence working with both children and their parents. • A positive, enthusiastic and caring approach. • Must be able to meet our enhanced DBS check requirements and safeguarding standards. • A strong understanding of pool safety and safeguarding. • Reliability, organisation and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. • Availability to work regularly at weekends. Pay and progression We offer a structured pay progression, rewarding your development, experience and commitment to the team. Hourly rate Initial in-house training £12.75 Following successful accreditation sign-off £17.00 Following successful 3-month observation £19.00 After 12 months – weekday teaching £20.60 After 12 months – weekend teaching £25.75 Holiday pay is paid in addition to the hourly rates at 12.07%, where applicable under our holiday pay arrangements.
