Youth Worker -Great Cornard- Hourly starting rate £12.71 (salary increase once attained or complete L2 Youth Work training) In this role you will confidently lead and oversee Abbeycroft’s Teen Chill sessions resulting in positive community outcomes. To support, engage, and empower young people to reach their full potential by providing guidance, mentorship, and access to positive opportunities. This role directly contributes to the organisation’s mission by improving outcomes for young people, strengthening community wellbeing, and supporting the delivery of high-quality, person-centered services. All aspects of this role require professionalism, care, friendliness and great customer interactions. Contracted 3 hours per week We also have casual vacancies in this location to support absence and annual leave. Key Responsibilities: • Deliver engaging and inclusive youth activities within the communities we serve • Support the development of new youth programmes based on local need • Build positive relationships with young people to encourage sustained participation • Support day-to-day delivery of youth provision, ensuring activities run effectively • Communicating effectively with young people and engaging a positive experience • Ensure the safety and welfare of young people by recognising, responding to, and reporting safeguarding concerns in line with policies and procedures Requirements: • Responsible individual with a passion for working in leisure, health, and well-being. • Strong commitment to safety and the well-being of others. • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team. • Strong understanding and ability to deliver effective customer service in various scenarios • Ability to cover lessons on-shift and where required to avoid disruptions where possible Qualifications: • Level 2 Youth Work qualification (desirable) • First Aid at Work certification • Safeguarding Training Candidates applying without this qualification will be able to attain all with Abbeycroft after a successful interview.
