Career Opportunity at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre   General Manager Salary between £44,455 - £50,007 per annum Permanent 40 hours per week    We are looking for an experienced General Manager to be our next leader of the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre in London Borough of Bromley. This is a rare opportunity to lead a flag ship facility through a strategic period of change with our client the Greater London Authority (GLA).  The facility consist of a 2 swimming pools (25 metre pool, 17 metre pool, 3 squash courts, 110 station gym, 6 lane indoor track, 8 lane IAAF outside track, 2 fitness class studios, trampoline/ gymnastics studio, 2 tennis courts, 2 padel courts, 3 beach volleyball courts, 5 football pitches, multi-use sports hall and more.   For many years Crystal Palace National Sports Centre has been at the heart of numerous great occasions within British and International Sport and GLL are proud to keep this tradition alive through our management of the venue in partnership with the GLA.   The iconic, world famous Crystal Palace National Sports centre was opened in 1964 and today is a listed heritage building. Set within 200 acres of parkland, the facility provides a unique London venue steeped in sporting tradition.   The Crystal Palace National Sports Centre is in a prime location and is conveniently located, only a short walk from Crystal Palace Overland line. There are also excellent road, bus and train links from London Borough of Bromley, surrounding boroughs and Central London.   The Crystal Palace is not ‘just another big leisure centre’ and remains one of its largest and most important. Crystal Palace will celebrate its 60th birthday this year and members of GLL’s senior team who focused on the successful bid of winning the contract in the centre back in the 2005 retain a keen interest in its performance to this day. As such, the ideal candidate will be comfortable liaising with our Senior Leadership Group. The GLA Client team are equally focused on the Crystal Palace, and so candidates will also ideally have a strong track record of maintaining excellent Client relationships.   The centre has benefited from over £2.5m of capital investment in the last couple of years, and its appearance and condition belies its age. However this role isn’t just about the current Crystal Palace National Sports Centre. In less than three years the centre will benefit from a significant development of a brand-new facility whilst retaining the strong heritage of the centre.   The successful candidate will maintain and grow the current business at the Crystal Palace, but will also play a critical role in the mobilisation of the new Leisure Centre.    This General Manager opportunity is perfectly suited to an existing General Manager or an Assistant Manager who is looking for their next challenge and will thrive in a hands-on customer facing role where you are coaching and leading your team to deliver outstanding operational standards and the highest possible levels of customer service.    Our aim is to make an active and healthy lifestyle accessible to all.
