Lifeguard

Kingsteignton Swimming Pool is a registered charity run by a voluntary committee. The pool opens from April to September. Recruiting the right individuals to join this team is important to us. Role Summary To supervise public swimming sessions, group sessions such as swimming lessons, aquafit and private hire sessions. To maintain areas used by all pool users in accordance with procedures laid down in the staff handbook. To ensuring excellent standards of customer care are maintained. To work in the kiosk, taking customer entry monies and checking memberships on rotation with poolside/ cleaning duties. Main Responsibilities • Ensure a safe and healthy environment for all our customers whilst providing high standards of customer care at all times. • Undertake the day to day running of the swimming pool in accordance with the standard operating procedures and relevant documents • Ensure the pool and its facilities are maintained to a high standard in accordance with the daily rotas, cleaning lists and the Manager/Supervisor instructions. • Undertake any other duties as and when requested by the Manager. Personal Specification Requirement Desirable/Essential National Pool Lifeguard Qualification E Previous experience of working in a leisure environment D Knowledge of leisure centre operations E Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team E A clear appreciation of customer needs and the importance of good customer service E Ability to communicate clearly, both in writing and verbally E Willingness and ability to maintain public areas to a high standard of cleanliness. E Ability to work a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends. E An up to date DBS check D Evidence of continuous professional development and learning/regular staff training D The skills to act in a supervisory role if the need arises. D Qualification in pool plant operations D Swimming Teaching Qualifications Level 1/Level 2 D
