USA Summer Camp Lifeguard & Swimming Instructor Jobs – Summer 2027

Skilled Summers is recruiting lifeguards and swimming instructors for some of the leading summer camps across the USA for Summer 2027. Whether you're an experienced, qualified lifeguard, a confident swimmer or have a passion for teaching swimming, we have a range of exciting opportunities available. You'll spend your summer working outdoors, supporting children and young people, developing your skills and becoming part of an international camp community. Some camps may also consider candidates with expired or non-American-recognised qualifications, with additional lifeguard training potentially available during staff training. As a camp lifeguard, your responsibilities may include: Supervising swimmers and maintaining a safe pool or waterfront environment. Monitoring campers using buddy systems and established safety procedures. Carrying out water rescues and responding to emergencies when required. Preparing and maintaining safety equipment, including rescue aids and flotation devices. Demonstrating water safety techniques and promoting safe behaviour. Supporting campers in developing confidence in and around the water. Following camp safety policies and emergency procedures. Interested in teaching swimming too? Some camps offer combined Lifeguard & Swim Instructor positions. As a swimming instructor, you could also: Teach swimming lessons to children of different ages and abilities. Help beginners develop confidence and essential swimming skills. Teach strokes including front crawl, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. Plan engaging swimming lessons, activities and water-based games. Help campers improve their technique and overall water confidence. What's Included? Your package typically includes: Salary from $2,400 USD, with opportunities to earn more depending on experience, camp and contract length.
