Swimming Teacher (Baby and Preschool)

ROLE: BABY TODDLER SWIM COACH (Dubai Based) Full time / Part time To teach parent and baby classes from 3 months to 3 years of all abilities to develop water confidence, water safety and swimming foundations. SKILLS: ● Good communicator ● Passion for working with young children ● The ability to inspire confidence ● Enthusiastic and positive attitude towards swimming and water safety ● Perseverance and patience ● The ability to encourage parents and children and put them at ease ● An understanding of how to teach and instruct in a calm and confident way KEY DUTIES: ● To plan and deliver lessons ensuring adherence to the Urban Swim Academy brand, Standard Operating Procedures, and lesson plan style and execution. ● Ensure safe provision of all equipment and ensure it is used correctly ● Make sure safety standards are followed in sessions and undertake risk assessments ● Identify participants abilities and developmental stages to ensure appropriate groupings ● Provide explanations and demonstrate techniques to parents, correcting safely where necessary ● To be a positive role model, creating a positive and fun environment in which to motivate and encourage parents to participate in the class ● Being able to create ground rules to ensure all participants safety in the class ● To constantly update, manage and complete attendance and bookings using our Software ● Organise and supervise assistants and helpers as directed by the Swim Academy Director. ● Work alongside the Aquatics Director, other Swimming Teachers/Coaches, Lifeguards etc to help ensure that participants are able to swim in a safe environment. ● To attend regular meetings with the Aquatics Director and team as and when necessary ● To agree to abide by a code of conduct and carry out duties in accordance with Urban Swim Academy policies, including equal opportunities, safeguarding children, health and safety and risk assessment procedures etc. WORKING CONDITIONS: ● Irregular hours as per customer requirements and school terms. Can include weekend days. Sessions may be held in the morning, evening and weekend. You may be asked to cover other teachers as required during periods of holiday or other absence. ● Holidays to be negotiated with management for non-peak periods ● Driving required. ● Location as per customer demand. ● Most swim coaching will be done outdoors. ● This role reports to the Aquatics Director. ADMINISTRATION: ● Utilise internal online tracking system (MindBody online) on a daily basis to record attendance to both personal sessions and group sessions ● Attend company events when required ● Keep all certifications accurate and up to date, including CPR and First Aid training ● Ensure customers are contacted within 24 hours of making a request. ● Bring in new customers to Urban Swim Academy, ensuring Urban Swim Academy remains a sustainable business QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: All swim coaches must have achieved, as a minimum, any of the following qualifications: ASA/UKCC Level 1 Certificate for Teaching Aquatics ASA/UKCC Level 1 Certificate for Coaching Swimming ASA Level 1 ASCA Level 1 & 2 STA Award in Teaching Swimming AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety Current First Aid / CPR Certification AND Baby & Preschool Swim Teacher qualification (from relevant awarding body)
