Senior Lifeguard

Kingsteignton Swimming Pool is a registered charity run by a voluntary committee. The pool opens from April to September. The manager is an essential to the continuing success of the pool and recruiting the right individual for this post is vital. Role Summary This role would suit a versatile and motivated individual with a range of skills to support the Pool Manager and committee with the day to day running of the pool. Main Responsibilities • To support the Pool Manager in the running of the pool, taking charge in their absence. • Ensure a safe and healthy environment for all our customers whilst providing high standards of customer care at all times. • To work closely with the Pool Manager to ensure the safe running of the swimming pool in accordance with the standard operating procedures and relevant documents, including safeguarding. • Prepare the facilities in accordance with the daily rotas, cleaning lists and the Committee instructions. • In the absence of the Pool Manager to ensure that all Leisure Assistants are performing the duties outlined in their job description. • To set an example for all staff and volunteers • Undertake any other duties as and when requested by the Pool Manager/ Committee. Personal Specification Requirement Desirable/Essential National Pool Lifeguard Qualification E Previous management experience of working in a leisure environment D Knowledge of leisure centre operations E Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team E A clear appreciation of customer needs and the importance of good customer service E Ability to communicate clearly, both in writing and verbally E Flexible and committed with good problem- solving skills. E Ability to work a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends. E An up to date DBS check D Evidence of continuous professional development and learning/regular staff training D Pool plant qualification D General office skills D Good time-keeping E
