Full time - Lifeguard positions in Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Yorkshire & Cheshire

Job Title: Lifeguard Job Overview: We are seeking vigilant and skilled lifeguards to join our team and ensure the safety and well-being of participants at our Swim @ School programme. The ideal candidate should be proficient in water rescue techniques, possess excellent communication skills, and be committed to maintaining a secure and enjoyable environment for swimmers. We offer our programme to Primary schools in many regions in the North such as Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Cheshire, and Yorkshire. We are currently looking for Fully Qualified Lifeguards to join our team for a view to start in April 2024. Interviews will start to be conducted W/C 4/12/23 and will continue till all vacancies are taken. Pay will be from £10.00 per hour. As a lifeguard with to begin with, you will be on a 3-month probationary period with a view to giving yourself a casual full-time contract following a successful probationary period. For the right candidate up to 40 hours of work is available during term time. Typical working hours will be 8-4 Monday to Friday, with one hour paid lunch breaks. Responsibilities: Surveillance and Prevention: Maintain constant surveillance of the swimming area to anticipate and respond to any potential hazards. Enforce safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents and promote a safe swimming environment. Identify and address any unsafe behaviours or conditions promptly. Rescue Operations: Be prepared to respond quickly and efficiently to emergency situations. Perform water rescues using appropriate techniques and equipment. Administer first aid and CPR as needed until additional medical help arrives. Customer Service: Interact with patrons in a friendly and professional manner. Provide information on facility rules and regulations. Assist in maintaining a positive and inclusive atmosphere for all swimmers. Equipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect and ensure the proper functioning of rescue equipment. Report any maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions promptly. Emergency Preparedness: Participate in regular training and drills to maintain and improve emergency response skills. Stay updated on CPR, first aid, and lifeguard certification requirements. Qualifications: Current lifeguard certification from a recognized training agency. CPR and First Aid certifications. Strong swimming skills and endurance. Excellent observational and communication skills. Ability to remain calm and focused in emergency situations. Physical fitness and the ability to perform rescue operations. Preferred Qualifications: Previous lifeguarding experience. Additional certifications such as Water Safety Instructor (WSI) or lifeguard instructor. Working Conditions: School hours, on-site. Required to perform physical tasks.
