Lead Swimming Instructor

HydroKidz is looking to add to its team of dedicated swimming teachers in Wokingham. Available to start immediately. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill the position of Lead Swimming Instructor. As the Swimming Instructor, you will be responsible for instructing and teaching all levels and abilities of our swimming lessons. The delivery of high-quality swimming instruction, in a safe and enjoyable environment should be of the upmost importance to you. The ideal candidate should be able to work as part of team and be flexible and accommodating in their approach. Responsibilities: 1. Lesson Delivery and Management of Pupils & Teachers. • Implement, and manage the SwimExpert swimming program catering to various age groups and skill levels. • Adhere to SwimExpert, lesson plans, and training materials to ensure effective and engaging swimming instruction. • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and safety standards to continuously enhance the swimming program. • Oversee the session on specific days a ensuring instructors are teaching using best practices and all children are having a pleasant experience. 2. Team Work and Training: • Effectively manage a team of qualified swimming instructors. Add value to the team and working environment. • Conduct regular staff meetings, training sessions, and performance evaluations to ensure a high level of competency among the aquatic staff. • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment among the aquatic staff. • Complete teachers evaluations providing praise and constructive feedback. 3. Safety and Compliance: • Implement and enforce safety protocols, as per the SwimExpert NOP/EAP and Risk Assessment. Ensure the well-being of pupils. • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, certifications, and regulations. • Constantly assessing children and instructors to ensure everyone is safe at all times (rescue required). 4. Customer Service: • Interact with participants and their families and ensure all enquires are delt with on sight or passed onto the Co-ordinators. • Continuously asses children are in the correct lessons and being challenged at all times. Ensure this is then reflected on lead reports after the session. • Develop and maintain positive relationships with pupils, parents and venue staff where applicable. • Make sure all children are registered and accounted for and greeted with a friendly face. 5. Facility Management: • Keep equipment tidy within your sight to ensure safety. • Maintain changing facilities and poolside to ensure it is safe to take lessons. Essential qualifications/skills: • ASA/Swim England/STA Level 2 or equivalent qualifications. • knowledge of learn-to-swim teaching pathways. • Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the swimming lessons program. • Lifeguard and/or Water Safety Instructor certifications required. • 2+ years’ experience. Desirable qualifications/skills: • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities. • Excellent interpersonal skills • CPR and First Aid certifications. • Microsoft Office - working knowledge. • UK Full driving license. We’ll provide you with: • Lovely working environment in hotel and school pools • A variety of motivated regular clients • Plenty of teaching with hours to suit (generally afternoons/evenings and weekends) • Up to 4 CPD's per year free to attend and daily support via our Operations team • Creative freedom to tailor sessions while working within the SwimEngland National Plan • Staff discounts at our web-shop (theswimmingshop.com & simplyswim.com) • Minimal administration (our team deal with all the customer bookings and queries) so you can concentrate on teaching Requirements: • A true love of swimming with a friendly caring personality • SwimEngland (ASA) Level 2 or STA Award and or Certificate Swimming Instructor Qualifications (or the equivalent international qualification) • Experience of swimming teaching ideally • A recognised pool rescue award (preferable)
