Senior Library Assistant

Senior Library Assistant, Dudley Schools’ Library Service, Part Time.   GLL is looking for a Senior Library Assistant at the Schools’ Library Service  based at the Straits School in Dudley, working 30 hours per week.   The Schools Library Service in Dudley delivers a wide range of engaging and high-quality resources to schools in Dudley Borough and neighbouring authorities, to support the teaching of the National Curriculum and the Reading for Pleasure agenda.   As a Schools’ Library Service Officer, you’ll be involved in everything from packing up of stock, daily van checks and making deliveries to schools.  You will assist subscribers in person, and by telephone and email, in a helpful and courteous manner, in accordance with GLL customer care policies, and will build good relationships with colleagues in other libraries to provide a high-quality service.   You will undertake any further tasks as required and may be responsible for the opening and closing library premises at the end of the day’s business.   You’ll ideally come from a library background, but it’ll be your enthusiasm for helping others and devotion to customer care that makes you really stand out. You’ll have a passion for reading and promoting books, along with excellent people skills.
