We deliver high-quality swimming lessons in a safe, supportive and enjoyable environment, with water safety at the heart of everything we teach. Our bespoke swimming programme supports progression from babies through to adults, with an individual approach that recognises every swimmer’s needs, confidence and goals. We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable and passionate Swimming Teachers who share our values and want to help every swimmer reach their potential. About the Role You will plan and deliver safe, engaging and effective swimming lessons in line with UK Swim Academy’s programme and teaching standards. Teaching children and/or adults of varying abilities, you will adapt your approach to each swimmer, celebrate their achievements and help them take the next step with confidence. You will join a supportive team that values positive relationships, consistent lesson quality and clear communication with swimmers and their families. Key Responsibilities - Plan and deliver well-structured, high-quality lessons using UK Swim Academy’s bespoke programme. - Adapt activities to suit swimmers’ ages, abilities, confidence levels and individual learning needs. - Create a welcoming, inclusive environment where swimmers feel supported, encouraged and motivated. - Develop water confidence, safety awareness and swimming technique. - Assess, monitor and accurately record swimmer progress. - Provide clear, constructive feedback and celebrate achievements. - Deliver professional parent or guardian handovers, sharing progress, successes and areas for development where appropriate. - Ensure lessons are organised and start and finish on time. -Maintain high standards of safeguarding and swimmer welfare. - Follow all health and safety, pool safety and emergency procedures. - Report safeguarding, safety or welfare concerns promptly through the appropriate channels. - Communicate professionally with swimmers, families and colleagues. - Maintain professional standards of appearance, behaviour and conduct. - Attend team meetings, training and development sessions as required. About You You are a patient, encouraging teacher who enjoys helping others learn and understands that progress looks different for every swimmer. You will be: - Passionate about swimming, water safety and delivering excellent lessons. - Friendly, approachable and confident working with swimmers and families. - Able to build positive, trusting relationships. - Reliable, punctual and well organised. - A clear and professional communicator. - Comfortable adapting your teaching to different abilities and needs. - Motivated to develop your knowledge and teaching skills. - Able to work independently and contribute positively to a team. - Committed to making every swimmer’s experience a positive one. Essential Requirements - A recognised UK swimming teaching qualification appropriate to the role, such as a Swim England or STA Level 2 qualification. - Current safeguarding training. - Current CPR and/or first aid training, as required for the role. - A strong understanding of pool safety and swimming teaching responsibilities. - Availability to work evenings and/or weekends as required. - The right to work in the UK. - A commitment to safeguarding children and adults at risk. - A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle. Desirable Experience and Qualifications - Experience teaching swimmers across different ages and abilities. - Experience supporting nervous swimmers or those with water sensitivities. - Experience working with swimmers with additional needs. - Previous work within a swimming school or leisure environment. - Additional swimming, lifesaving or teaching qualifications. - A willingness to undertake further training and professional development.
